Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Finding Care Homes is used by families and care home owners of all ages and abilities, often at a stressful time. Making the site usable for everyone isn’t optional to us — it’s part of doing this well.

What we’ve done

We’ve built this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, including:

  • A “skip to main content” link for keyboard users.
  • Labels on every form field, not just placeholder text.
  • Visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and form controls.
  • Text alternatives for informational images and icons.
  • Status and error messages that are announced to screen readers.
  • Color combinations checked against minimum contrast ratios, and status indicators (like open beds) that never rely on color alone.
  • A logical heading structure and landmark regions (header, main content, footer) on every page.

This is an ongoing process

We test with keyboard navigation and screen readers as we build, but we don’t claim perfection. New pages, new features, and older corners of the site can all fall short in ways we haven’t caught yet. When we learn about a problem, we prioritize fixing it.

Let us know

If you run into anything on this site that’s hard to use with a screen reader, keyboard, or other assistive technology — or anything that doesn’t meet accessibility standards — please tell us. Email hello@example.com with what page you were on and what happened, and we’ll look into it.
